Hello and welcome to the Hurst Cup 2 Day International Trial
We are delighted to be running the Colin Adams Motorparts Hurst Cup again this year for its second year!!
The Hurst Cup event was first held in 1931 through to 1994 from European to World Championship status. Over this period, the trial was mainly held in and around the Leadmines and Clandeboye estate area.
In 1975 the European Trials Championship crossed over to be titled the World Trials Championship and the Hurst Cup event held in February 1975 was the first ever World Trial Championship event EVER!
The series continues today as Trial GP.
We held the Hurst Cup event in 2025 to mark the 50th Anniversary. The feedback you all gave us was phenomenal, so we thought we would do it all again!
The trial will be held with three lines of severity to choose from -
Novice - Easy
Clubman - Intermediate
Expert - Hardest
Eligible machinery-
Pre 65
Twin shock
Any other Pre 95 machine (inc.mono)
The Knock Motorcycle Club who originally organised the event have kindly given us permission to use the actual historical Hurst Cup with all the previous World Championship winners names still on it!
Below is a list of some questions we have already been asked, we hope you find the answers to any queries you might have. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you cannot find what you need.
How does the entry process work ?
We will NOT be having a ballot system in place.
Entries open on Monday 27th October 2025.
Entries are first come basis, so don't hang about.
We have 120 riding spaces and when they are gone they are gone.
What machine can I compete on?
Eligible machines:
PRE 65
Twinshock
Any other Pre 95 machine (inc of mono)
Do I have to compete both days?
Yes, this a 2 day trial so all riders must compete on both days..
What line should I enter?
Novice line will be focused on a fun trial for anyone with an eligible bike. We have made things even more manageable for any rider by offering the option of riding 1 or 2 laps each day, you choose.
Clubman line will have a few extra twists around the same section’s but again nothing silly or dangerous!
The Expert line will be the most challenging of the 3.
We want everyone to have a great weekend riding in the same sections that our hero’s rode in the 70s and 80s without any of the big bits although we may have some of the big bits taped out so you can see what was asked of the riders back in the day!
You will be surprised what they rode back then but your pride and joy will not be put at risk lol
I am travelling from outside NI, what accommodation options are available?
Riders will have the opportunity to camp over at the parc ferme area!
